What kind of church is HPC?

Healing Place Church is a new testament, full-gospel, non-denominational body of believers. We exist to celebrate God's presence through worship, to communicate God's Word through evangelism, to educate God's people through discipleship and to demonstrate God's love through ministry.

If you have any questions regarding our friendship with these ministries please contact Wayne Austin at 225-753-2273 ext 238.

HPC is accountable to four presbyters: Wayne Austin, Dave Ohlerking, Jim Rentz, and Gary Simons. These men ensure that HPC remains spiritually, financially and organizationally sound. In addition to our presbyters, we have a Pastoral Advisory Board, a Financial Board and a Financial Office. These boards oversee the proper organizational and financial structure of the church. We also have a C.P.A. to help ensure financial accountability and strict conformance to all regulations for IRS and other purposes.

How can I meet the staff & find out what HPC is all about?

To find out more about HPC, get to know some of our staff members or connect to the life of the church, you should attend HPC's Newcomers Luncheon. Newcomers Luncheons are held about 8 times a year on Sunday afternoons at the Annex Campus. Here you can find out everything there is to know about HPC. Call the church office at 225-753-2273 for more information.

How can I meet others and get connected?

The number one way to get connected to the life of the church is to get involved in a Life Group. One of our goals at HPC is that we want to be big enough to reach the world, but small enough to feel like home. Life Groups are the key to helping us do that. Life Groups are where HPC really happens. You can serve, learn and have fun, but most importantly you'll get to know people who you'll be able to share the ups and downs of life with. Whatever you interests, schedule or situation there is a Life Group tailor-made to fit you. » find out more about getting connected

How can I get prayer for something specific?

You can call the church office at 225-753-2273 ext. 241, to leave a prayer request or fill out our prayer request form. In addition, a prayer team is available to pray with you after each weekend service. We also have a pastor on call daily for emergencies.

How do I activate my ministry gifts at HPC?

In order to serve in ministry, we require that HPC members attend the HPConnect class to get a solid grounding in the Word of God, personal prayer time and the right foundation for ministry. Call the church office at 225-753-2273 for upcoming dates for these classes.

What's next for HPC?

As with any living organism, Healing Place Church is always growing and changing - as led by the Holy Spirit. We are currently expanding of our facilities here at HPC in order to better accommodate the many souls that the Lord is leading here each week. With the purchase of additional land, we are building more parking, new office/administrative buildings, new recreation facilities and a new sanctuary. To find out more about our plans » click here
